Beginning level development of reading, writing, listening comprehension, and speaking in French, within the context of French culture. Credit by examination in the Department of World Languages and Cultures for courses numbered 101, 102, 201, and 202 is available only to students who are not currently enrolled in the course. Designed to meet the needs of students who wish to focus on areas other than those in which courses are offered. No more than 9 credits in Frnch 490 may be counted toward graduation.
