Cultivars of the most prevalent and economically important woody landscape plants will be taught. The importance of cultivars to the nursery and landscaping professions and suggestions for their proper usage will be discussed.

To meet the educational needs of a student population with interests ranging from plant physiology to landscape design/installation to fruit and vegetable production to golf course/athletic field construction and management, considerable flexibility is built into the horticulture curriculum.
