Overview of the biological, environmental, economic, behavioral, and socio-cultural determinants of health from the level of the gene to society. Introduction to the educational paths of the Integrated Health Sciences major and career opportunities in healthcare. Course includes projects related to each program focus in the major: the Science of Health and Disease; Human Health and Nutrition; Data Science and Health Studies; Public Policy, Ethics, Communication and Human Health; and Behavioral and Mental Health Studies. Experiential learning course focused on careers in life science fields. Sections offer themed learning allowing students to choose an immersive experience in an area of interest. Sections utilize hands-on engagement, field trips to on- and off-campus locations, and small group discussions with speakers working in different life science careers. Supervised undergraduate research experience conducted under the guidance of faculty or approved mentors in laboratory, clinical, or applied health settings. (Typically Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer)

Culminating undergraduate research experience. Students design and complete an independent or mentored project under the guidance of faculty or approved mentors in laboratory, clinical, community, or applied health settings, integrating biological, behavioral, social, and humanistic perspectives on health. Typically taken in student’s final year. (Typically Offered: Fall, Spring)
