Course topics will include adaptation, mitigation, geoengineering, and related policies and technologies. Various responses to climate change impacts in the near- and long-term in different global communities will be considered. Greenhouse gas reduction techniques, technologies, and policies will be compared. UN Conference of the Parties sessions and outcomes (e.g., the Paris Agreement) will be explored and critiqued. Proposed solar radiation management and carbon dioxide removal strategies will be covered. The strengths and weaknesses, financial demands, ethical concerns, and global perspectives of adaptation, mitigation, and geoengineering will be discussed.
