The Communication Studies (COMST) program is the social science academic unit focused on human communication. COMST majors study communication theories and research in interpersonal/family, small group, organizational, leadership, intercultural, digital, and health contexts. COMST majors learn how to use evidence-based communication strategies to build healthy relationships, effectively navigate conflict situations, lead and work collaboratively in small  groups, and affect positive change in their organizations and communities. The COMST  curriculum prepares students for careers that require communication expertise and competence.  Our alumni have secured jobs in account management, human resources, sales, training and  development, recruitment, talent acquisition, youth development, business operations, event  planning, social media strategy, law, international affairs, and public relations.
