Experimental verification of theories and knowledge learned in mechanics of materials. Tensile, flexural and torsional testing of metallic and wooden structural materials for materials’ strengths and the characterization of moduli of elasticity and rigidity and Poisson’s ratio. Applications of strain gages and extensometers. Analysis of beam bending. Buckling of columns. Analysis of eccentric loading. Analysis of combined loading. Testing and analysis of thin-walled pressure vessel. Technical writing practice via lab reports.
