FSHN 3010: Precision Medicine in Integrated Health
Credits: 3. Contact Hours: Lecture 3.
Role of personalized medicine in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, with a focus on integrating genetic and genomic data into patient care. Application of pharmacogenomics, genomics, nutrigenomics, and nutrigenetics to inform clinical decision-making across a variety of health professions. Clinical pharmacogenetic guidelines and the application of genomic data in patient care will be discussed through interdisciplinary applications in lecture and case-based discussions. Health professional students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to understand personalized medicine approaches in a collaborative, patient-centered healthcare environment.
