Analysis and interpretation of film in French society. Topics vary according to faculty interest. Film directors, genres, movements (e.g. The New Wave), historical survey, aesthetics, and cinematography. Three credits: readings, discussions and papers in English; open to all students. Four credits: required for French concentration credit, supplementary readings and written course work in French. Counts toward World Film Studies Minor. For enrollment in fourth credit, 6 credits in FRNCH at 300-level.
Meets International Perspectives Requirement.
