FRNCH 3780: French Cinema

Analysis and interpretation of film in French society. Topics vary according to faculty interest. Film directors, genres, movements (e.g. The New Wave), historical survey, aesthetics, and cinematography. Three credits: readings, discussions and papers in English; open to all students. Four credits: required for French concentration credit, supplementary readings and written course work in French. Counts toward World Film Studies Minor. For enrollment in fourth credit, 6 credits in FRNCH at 3000-level. Meets International Perspectives Requirement.
